Young Industries Model BT (Blow-Thru) Rotary Airlock Valve is your solution for efficiently feeding cohesive bulk materials into your convey line. The It's purpose-built for applications where bulk materials need a little help to flow freely. We've integrated the convey line directly into the valve's end plates, allowing conveying air to blow through the rotor pockets and assist in material discharge. No more clogs, no more downtime — just smooth, reliable material handling.
Plus, when headroom is tight, the Model BT Valve shines. Its low-profile design requires less space than traditional drop-thru valves with inlet manifolds, making it ideal for compact installations.

Handling sticky or cohesive powders doesn't have to be a struggle. The Model BT Blow-Thru Rotary Valve simplifies the process with its innovative air-assisted discharge. Conveying air blows through the rotor pockets, helping to dislodge stubborn materials and ensuring consistent flow. Need to fit your valve into a tight space? No problem. The Model BT Valve's compact design requires minimal headroom, making it perfect for installations where space is at a premium.- Works with convey line sizes from 1″ to 6″, with rotors featuring partially filled pockets to optimize material flow
- 15 PSIG Housing and differential pressure or vacuum
- Minimum four blade sealing with two (2) blade sealing on each side.
- Fabricated or cast designs
- Materials of construction: Cast or fabricated carbon steel, cast or fabricated stainless steel
- Raw materials are traceable to standard specifications with ASTM the most used specification
- Round or square inlet flange
- Blow thru pipe in pipe or tube
- Flanged or plain end blow thru pipe
- Up to 250°F operation temperature, with designs offered to withstand up to 1,000°F temperature
- Outboard-mounted precision ball bearings
- Packing gland rotor shaft seal consisting square braided Kevlar impregnated with PTFE packing, 4 rings per side and held in place by an aluminum packing follower.
- Eight (8) bladed rotor with twelve (12) bladed rotor for rotary valves over 12″ size to provide low operating air or gas leakage.
- Rotor assembled concentrically to the housing
- Rotor shafts secured to eliminate shifting in the housing
- Two (2) basic styles of rotors available partially filled B and with “BD” – adjustable tips
- Grounding and bonding connection to NFPA specifications
- Parallel shaft Gearmotor, side mounted, 3 phase, 60 Hertz, 230-460 volts, TEFC and roller chain drive and safety to OSHA requirements.
- Painted blue epoxy
- Completely assembled and tested.
- Eight- or twelve-vane rotors (depending on valve size)
- High pressure design to 150 PSIG
- High temperature design to 1,000°F
- Double length styles
- Drive and accessories are usually supplied consisting of a right angle gear motor, sprockets, drive chain and safety guard.
- TEFC or Explosion proof motors, direct connected and other special drive available
- Special materials of construction including: 316 Stainless steel, Hastelloy, Titanium
- Interior coatings (to provide abrasive resistance and material release) include: chrome plating, nickel plating, tungsten carbide, Stellite, Teflon
- Double length configuration for pneumatic conveying systems requiring higher throughput without increasing overall height
